The living room is the central part of your home & needs to provide comfortable seating for different activities & accommodate all the family’s needs. It can be used for watching television, chatting with friends over a glass of wine or as a place for children to play. It is therefore important to understand the needs of the family & understand the activities required & design around these needs.

The seating is a great place to start, whether this be U-Shaped, L-Shaped, both of which work well & can draw the eye to a focal point such as a fireplace. Although all seats need to see the TV, this shouldn’t be the focal point of the room; custom built shelves or cabinets should allow them to blend into the background. It is important for attractive objects to be on display to the draw the eye, whether this be an artful arrangement on a table, thoughtfully dressed shelves or a collection of art.
